Southern Hungary is sunnier than you might think, basking in up to 2,500 hours of sunshine every year. Such an abundance of sunshine provides plenty of energy, and in sunny Gyomaendrőd, the solar plant run by our subsidiary mamutec Kft. harnesses this energy in an area covering around 2,000 m2. In this recently taken photograph, you can see its monocrystalline solar panels, which came out on top as the most efficient solar collectors by far in the selection process at the end of 2019.

Climate-effective savings

Even with just 1,300 hours of sunshine per year, we are able to generate an average total of 400,000 kWh of green electricity. This in turn enables us to achieve CO2 savings of up to 300 tonnes, as much as 60 percent, per year. In doing so, we take a more environmentally friendly approach to manufacturing our high-quality products and significantly reduce our climate-impacting emissions, thus taking a huge step towards sustainability. What’s more, our effective solar panels make optimal use of the area available, which is an important factor when it comes to using resources economically.
